What it is
The Sunpura S4800 is the same all-in-one platform as the S2400: it uses the identical Power Box (A2400-ZA, with inverter, MPPT, BMS and EMS) paired with a larger 4.8 kWh Battery Box (B4800-ZA). One stackable unit does the work of a separate inverter, battery and management system.
Twice the storage, same simplicity
The S4800 suits homes that want a full evening and overnight of stored power, or a larger backup reserve, without changing the install approach. Connect solar directly to the two MPPT inputs (2,000 Wp in total), store during the day, and draw down when grid tariffs peak. Surplus solar is stored in the battery: the system is configured for zero export, so nothing is fed back into the grid and we make no feed-in claim. Why all-in-one matters
- Inverter included: no separate inverter to source, mount or warranty.
- Expandable: stack up to 14.4 kWh in one system. Three units run in parallel for 43.2 kWh, and six units reach 86.4 kWh with the Sunpura parallel box. Those multi-unit figures assume every unit is stacked to its maximum and are drawn across three phases; most South African homes are single-phase, so ask us to size a multi-unit system.
- LiFePO4 chemistry: 6,000 cycles at 70% state of health, with 90% usable depth of discharge. Note that the S2400 and S4800 share a Power Box but not a cycle rating: 8,000 or more and 6,000 respectively.
- Pair it with the flexible solar panel kit, which maps onto one of the two PV inputs.
- Managed from the Sunpura HOME app over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Certification
The S4800 carries the same European and international certification set as the S2400 (CE/EMC, RED, LVD, CB, RoHS, REACH, UN38.3, IP44, WEEE, VDE 4105, EN 50549 and more).
