What it is

The Sunpura parallel box (model GB-22) is a wall-mounted connection box that lets up to six S2400 or S4800 systems run together on the grid. Each battery plugs in on its own input, the box combines them on the grid side, and no communication cables are needed between the units. It is a separate product, and it is what makes the six-unit capacity figures on the S2400 and S4800 pages achievable.

What six units add up to

  • Six S2400 systems, each stacked to its full 9.6 kWh: 14.4 kW and 57.6 kWh. Six base S2400 units without extra battery modules give 14.4 kWh.
  • Six S4800 systems, each stacked to its full 14.4 kWh: 14.4 kW and 86.4 kWh. Six base S4800 units give 28.8 kWh.

Those multi-unit figures are drawn across L1, L2 and L3, and the box connects to the grid at AC 400 V three-phase. Most South African housing is single-phase, so ask us to size a multi-unit system before you plan around a headline number.

EV charging built in

The box has a plug-and-play connection for an EV charger: 7 kW single-phase, or 11 kW to 22 kW three-phase. Stored solar can charge the car in the evening instead of the grid doing it at peak tariff.

For installers

Grid connection is three-phase at 22 kW with over-current and short-circuit protection. Battery inputs are AC 230 V at 16 A each on a South African plug, and the load connection is a CEE plug at AC 230 V or AC 400 V. The enclosure is IP54, naturally cooled and wall mounted with a back bracket, working from −25 °C to +50 °C at up to 2,000 m altitude.
